Okay, yes I know, I'm terrible about updating this thing. So, recap of the past few weeks:
Just and Dana left for the field at the end of August and they were gone for two weeks. So naturally, Bev spent a lot of time with me and the kids and then at our house. It was fun.
The first weekend after the guys left we went to a festival in Baumholder and we all had a blast. I took tons of pictures and a few videos but my camera went all demonic and deleted EVERYTHING. Luckily I was able to retake some of the pictures but not all of them. I was so mad. But, we had a good time none-the-less. There were rides and games for kids and Kyan loved those. They also had vendors for merchandise, souvenirs, food and drinks. This is Germany so naturally they had a lot of alcohol. Thankfully, we're not big drinkers. The food was really good though. They had German food and Italian food. Yummy.
It rained quite a bit after the Baumholder fest so we weren't able to do a lot of outdoor stuff. It did, however, cool off quite a bit. Like to the point of having to wear long sleeves and jackets. It was even cold enough to make two pots of Russian Tea. Bev was/is a big fan of Russian Tea now. Once it stopped raining, it warmed up a little but it's officially fall weather now. We're all wearing pants and t-shirts and carry our jackets with us. Chase freezes at night but the kids and I do fine. They inherited their warm nature from their mama. They sleep better when it's cooler too. Again, like their mama.
Last week was pretty uneventful. The kids and I ran errands with Bev a few times and she took me on my errands. I am so thankful that we've become such good friends with her and Justin. I don't know what we would have done when my car died if they hadn't been around. Justin looked at my car before he left and tried to fix it but broke his torque wrench while trying to replace my spark plugs and fuel filter. So now we have to take it to a mechanic because he doesn't want to break anything in my car and if a mechanic breaks it, they have to replace it. We have the parts to we're going to take it to a mechanic when we can.
I've started going to the gym with Bev. We go to the one on Baumholder because A) it's closer and B) there is a family room where you can work out and keep your children with you. It's great because all you have to do is bring some toys and/or a movie and they're good to go. So while the kids entertain themselves we are able to work out. We did the treadmill, bike and weights. I can hear in my head the laughter that is coming from so of you, especially daddy. But, believe it or not, I enjoyed it and will keep going back. We're going to try to go at least 3 times a week if not more.
Yesterday we went to the Kusel fest. It was so much fun. We had a pretty good sized group so we all met at Bev and Justin's house and walked to the festival. Our group consisted of Bev, Justin, Me, Chase, Kyan, Kenna, Gretta, Miranda, Tim, their son Braeden, Ashlee, Shane and their boys Isaiah and Elijah. Then we met up with Dana when he got there. So, not only did the adults have a good time, the kids did too. Kyan, Braeden and Isaiah are all 3 so they were always together and they had a wonderful time. There were games, rides and vendors at this festival too but this about three times the size of the one in Baumholder. It was very family friendly. After the festival we went to Campos and got the BEST ice cream ever. It's Italian ice cream that they make themselves. It's even better than the ice cream man. What's even better than that, it's like a 5 minute walk from our house. So we're big fans.
Well, that's about all I have for now. I hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day. Love to all.
