[Insert clever title here]

Yeah I know, it's taking me forever to update this thing. A late update is better than no update though.

Two weeks ago Kathy, Chase's birth mom, came to visit. We had a lot of fun while she was here and I think it was good for Chase. We took her to base to show her around there and then we took her to a few of our favorite places. We took her to the Castle, which is our FAVORITE place to eat. It is just fabulous. Chase had never been to the chocolate factory so I took both of them there and we stocked up on candy and treats. Chase and Kathy more than me. Chase and Kathy went to the castle that's about 5 minutes from our house while she was here. That night we had a cook out with our good friend Dana.  All in all, it was a fun visit.

The 15th was my brother's birthday. We sent him some birthday cards and I'm hoping they got to him in time. I tried to let Kyan call him but I guess he was at work and we got his voicemail. And, being the dummy that I am, we didn't leave a message. Yeah, not my smartest move.

Chase had training all last week so I took the opportunity to stay home and work on potty training Kyan. I would love to say we've had success, but we haven't. I took him quite often but never quite got the hang of it. I'm still working with him and Chase works with him when he gets home. He just hasn't figured out to tell us when he has to go. We give him a piece of candy every time he goes and he has some Cars underwear that he can start wearing once he gets the hang of it. So we use those as incentives. I'm hoping he'll start getting the hang of it pretty soon though.

Kenna is not crawling yet but she does have her own way of getting around. Rather than crawl, she just lays on her stomach and scoots around. She'll get on her hands a knees and rock back and forth and I try to help her when she does that but she's stubborn and wants to do it her way. I'll tell you what though, it does not take her any time to get where she's going. She does not waste time. Especially if there is food involved. She is starting to cut another tooth now so we'll start introducing her to more table food soon. We've given her the soft stuff but nothing else because she doesn't have enough teeth to chew it.

Saturday was my daddy's birthday so I had Kyan call him to wish him a happy birthday. It seemed to do the trick because they both sounded happy to talk to each other. When we got off the phone Kyan just looked at me, smiled and goes, "mommy, that's my buddy. I see Buddy in Semtember." Yes, that is how Kyan says September. But talking to his buddy just made his day.

Yesterday we went to a place called Black & White for a family barbecue and to watch our friend Myk and his band perform. The food was good, the music was good and they had a play area for the kids so Kyan was entertained. Myk is also our neighbor and it just so happens that another neighbor of ours was there and he sang with Myk on two different songs. We all had a good time and it was nice to get out for a while.

Unfortunately, with good must also come the bad. We are having trouble with my car, AGAIN. We don't have a clue as to what's wrong with it this time. It started acting up on our way home last night and Chase said I can't drive it unless absolutely necessary. Thankfully, Justin and Bev were kind enough to give us permission to use their car. They have been in the states since the 1st and will be back Thursday. Justin is also handy with car maintenance so I may ask him to look at it. He's the one that knew what to fix last time so I'm hoping he'll know what to fix this time.

Well, that's about all I can remember. I hope everyone has a good week. Love to all.
